The Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA mind/body classes can help you grow stronger and more flexible while helping to relieve stress and improve your overall health and well-being.
 

Barre:  A collective approach to barre that moves beyond the traditional with it interval based format that incorporates circuit training, pilates, ballet, yoga and more. 

Barre and Mat Pilates:  A fun, never boring workout that works you from head to tow using isometric movements to attack the muscles in the body. 

Chair Yoga:  Gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting in a chair or standing using a chair. Suitable for active older adults.

Core Restore Pilates:  A class of pre-pilates and pilates exercises with a focus on finding and moving from the center of the body and building progressively more difficult movements from the center out. This class is suitable for those returning from injury or illness, those with chronic neck, back, hip or shoulder issues or those wishing to explore the foundations of Pilates movement.

Estelatte aka Yoga Flow:  A combination of tai chi, yoga, pilates, strength, tone, flexibility and relaxation by Ester. 

Foam Roller Massage:  This class will incorporate a soft foam roller massage with core strengthening and balance. 

Essentrics:  This class is a fitness program that utilizes the whole body with dynamic stretching and strengthening exercises.

Essentrics for Pain Relief:  It is similar to Essentrics but concentrating on how to relieve pain in all areas.  

Gentle Yoga:  Learn poses and move slowly through deep stretches. Gentle Yoga will help you gain flexibility, balance and strength.

Pilates:  Using a variety of equipment, this mat class focuses on your intrinsic core muscles. 

Power Yoga:  This yoga class takes the basic yoga poses, progressing at a faster pace, emphasizing building strength.

Restorative Yoga:  Works through a series of poses that are help for a longer period of time to help work into your connective tissue. The goal is to help increase circulation and flexibility. the perfect class for all athletes and runners. 

Sculpt and Tone:  A fun and energetic that fuses techniques from pilates and yoga to tone, define and chisel the entire body. Sculpt and Tone is the perfect combination of strength and flexibility with and added cardiovascular element. 

Tai Chi:  An ancient chinese tradition, practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner, accompanied by deep breathing.

Vinyasa Yoga:  This class incorporates postures in a fluid, flowing style, that combines integration of breath with movement and alignment principals.  You will see core work, hip openers, backbends, and inversions.

Yoga:  This class takes the basic poses and puts them into working practice in order to build strength and improve balance and flexibility.
