After School at the Y is a safe and caring environment for your children. Y counselors are positive role models who recognize the value of setting a good example. Activities include devotions, homework time, games and songs, character development, swimming and more!

Schools Served
Schools Served Afterschool transportation will be provided by the YMCA for students at Concord Lake STEAM Academy. KCS provides transportation for Shady Brook, Forest Park, North Kannapolis, G. W. Carver and Fred L. Wilson Elementary Schools.
Jackson Park Elementary is an off-site location serving those students along with Forest Park students that are bused to that location.

Kids Day Out
KIDS DAY OUT (KDO) is included in the cost of the Afterschool program, for full-time participants, for teacher work days and most individual holidays.
Parents can have peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe, supportive environment that encourages children to grow and learn. Children make new friends, develop new skills and build strong values.
All KDO's will be held at the YMCA, 7:00 am - 5:45 pm. Kids will need to pack one morning snack and lunch for these dates. Any other supplies required will be communicated to parents via our BAND app group page.
Open Doors Scholarship Program
Scholarships based on household income is available for those who qualify. Use the link at the bottom of this page for more information on our Open Doors program.
Y Staff
The Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA has caring, compassionate, kid friendly staff who make a difference. All staff are trained in CPR, first aid, child abuse prevention, emergency procedures, bloodborne pathogens and more.
